Grand Park, a new park in Los Angles should it be just another place to film movies or a public space for all to enjoy. The park, which costs $56-million stretches from City Hall to Bunker Hill. It is a popular place for people to come to yoga classes. Two of the five county supervisors want there to be no cost to to film in the park. The other three says that the public should have first priorities to the park. I believe there should be a fine on the park. This park is in the middle of Los Angles and the green space should be for the people. There is plenty of space in L.A. for shooting movies. This park should be for the people

Omaha Helping Hearts
http://www.omaha.com/article/20130324/LIVEWELL01/703249882/1685#nebraska-families-no-longer-need-to-look-afar-for-pediatric-transplantation
In 2007, a two year old, Mallory Mueller, had already had her heart patched twice and now needed a heart transplant. The thing is at the time Omaha did not have the ability to do so. Mallory had to move to St. Louis with her mother and leave her father and brother and sister back in Omaha. Omaha just got the go-ahead to start there new program. This is the first pediatric heart transplant facility in the state. “This is really well within our capabilities as a team,” said Hammel, 43, who will do the bulk of the transplants.
I think it is marvelous that Children's is doing this for the children of Omaha. Now families will be able to stay together, unlike Mallory's and can get the care they need. Although there are not a lot of transplants a year it is still important that we have the ability to do it and so close to home.

The Pope Steps Down...
http://www.latimes.com/news/world/worldnow/la-pope-benedict-xvi-text-20130211,0,6276641.story
On February 11th the Pop gathered the Cardinals to read a letter. A letter that would announce Pope Benedict the XVI reassignment from his current position. He says he wants to do this because of his age and strength. "both strength of body and mind are necessary" said Benedict. He is truly sad but he believe to keeps the church strong there must be a leader that is able to lead the faith in all ways
Though it is very sad that Benedict must step down he is doing what he feels right for the church and as pope (or former pope) I think he knows what he is talking about. The world needs a person to look up to and Benedict does not believe that is himself. All he wants is a strong leader for his faith.

L.A. Hospitals
http://www.latimes.com/health/la-me-metal-detectors-20130203,0,1230198.story
In 1993 at the USC Medical Hospital three doctors were shot in one of the ER rooms. The hospital then bought a new security systems, metal detectors at every door. and now after 20 years the hospital wants to get rid of the detectors. They say that the security system gives the hospital a feeling of danger and with the new competitiveness in hospitals USC wants to be more friendly and welcoming, the detectors do not help with that. Richard May, one of the doctors who was shot, says that it is a terrible idea to remove the metal detectors.
If I were May I would not want the security to go. If they were there in the first place May would not have gotta shot. I think it would be a good idea to keep the system, better safe then sorry and even thought they have not had an attack in more than 20 years things can go wrong in seconds. The metal detectors may be odd for a hospital but if is protecting the people of our country it should stay

Failure to Success
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-beat-failure-wall-20130127,0,691052.story
Telling our failures to others is a difficult thing to do, how about writing them on a board for everyone to see. That is exactly what Jeff Stibel did at his company. Stibel is the chef executive at Dun and Bradstreet Credibility Corp. in Malibu. Every so often he has his employes write down their failures on a white board. This helps the employes recognize what they are doing wrong and hopefully learning from it. Stibel says "Why not encourage creative risk by embracing failure and the lessons to be learned from them?"Stibel says he loves celebrating but personally it doesnt do much for us. One of Stibel's favorites quotes is by Robert Kennedy "Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."
This unconventional way of learning is actually very affective. I believe that when we forget how to do something or get something wrong on a test that the next time around I have a certain determination to fix what I have done wrong. I do agree with Stibel's method but I disagree with his notion the celebrating does very little. Celebrating helps boost my confidence. We can all learn from our mistakes and celebrate when we have achieved greatness

Illegal Drivers in L.A.
In Los Angles this mouth there was a study on unlicensed drivers and illegal immigrants. The combination of these two variables results in the most ancients that happen on the road. "If you don't hold people accountable to acceptable standards, then we get people that aren't prepared and don't have the skill set," said Tyler Izen, president of the Los Angeles Police Protective League. The police are just trying to keep the streets safe for citizens, but some illegal immigrants need to be on the road to go to work. “I have little choice but to drive to work, pick up groceries and take her daughters to school.", said Maria Galvan, a 42-year-old illegal immigrant who lives in Los Angeles. Some immigrants who have qualified for a federal work permit are being granted permission by Jerry Brown, the governor of California, to take a written and driving test to obtain a legal driver's license.
I believe that it is just common sense for people who are diving on the road to be educated on the laws of the road. I took driving ed this summer and recommend it for all people who will be driving. I also do feel bad for these immigrants who are just trying to support their families and think that Jerry Brown is doing the right thing by giving these tests to qualified illegal immigrants. This strategy keeps the bad drivers off the road and allows the ones who have proved their skill to go to work and the store for their families or their own self-benefit.
